This is a short week because my daughter chose Thursday for her ‘day off’ for her birthday 🙂 Check out Week 1 HERE!
We started out the week with “The Hundred Dresses” by Estes including discussion from Innovation Teaching Guide (Scholastic). We talked about points of view, character growth, and feelings/teasing as well as what we would do in that situation and how people can resolve issues. [6 year old with the 4 yo just listening to discussion.]
We ended the week talking a bit more about why people wore what they did, used a fabulous reference guide (see topical reading) that mentioned everything from lead paint on faces (make-up) to foot binding and everything else horrific you can remember hearing about (and more)– as a reminder that not everything that people did/do is good for them in the name of fashion and talked about how mom and dad are trying to steer them away from harmful things and toward good things with what they wear daily.
Our current toddler is singing along with some of our ABC’s. Awesome!

It’s neat how you’re teaching your daughters about fashion already. I’ve never thought to make it part of homeschool. Very cool, Mom!
