Once again we headed to a nearby city for the Great Cloth Diaper Change 2017! This is our 5th change! It started after my oldest was potty trained, but my 2nd went a year, my third twice, and this is the 2nd time for my fourth! The Great Cloth Diaper Change 2017 is the name for an annual attempt at the Guinness World Record for the most cloth diapers changed at one time!
We all settled in and checked out the toys at the venue, and there were some cool vendors as well. I bought a paint with water book for the 3 year old from Usborne and nabbed a gift card to a local second hand store as a door prize. I kept the card from a local mom who customizes diapers, there was a cute ‘mischief managed’ one in Gryffindor colors.
Once the locals cleared out of this community center, we all gathered for the change. The process is fairly simple. You hold up the diaper you’re changing into for a photo op. Once everyone has changed, you hold up the finished product AKA the baby’s bum. We’re second from the bottom left in the dark blue diaper in Joanna’s photo. There is a count that’s taken via the registration slips gathered to be added to the worldwide total.
Obviously in the photos my toddler did not want to lay down to be changed. We changed from Jules from bumGenius into Sorcerer from Blueberry. Dad changed the baby as we readied to go and his favorite is Jules, and as StL is the home of bumGenius, it seemed fitting. I also had an Applecheeks Parade in my bag, as well as a Lalabye Baby Quick Trip wetbag and diaper and a Thirsties option as well. In the end, the Blueberry was the closest at hand when it was time to change, and of course I am a huge Harry Potter fan, so that’s why it made it into the bag.
Once again they were collecting for a cloth diaper charity, Share the Love! Click the link to check it out, especially if you know someone who has diaper need! Photo credits are included, including the Share the Love donation. A lot of that was mine, lol. I brought a huge bag. After 8 years there’s stuff you love, stuff you don’t, and stuff you just need to purge after a while. I hope it’s useful. It’s not my first donation, although definitely my largest so far!

It is a great initiative. Donating diapers is a unique concept. Definitely sharing this link with many others.
