All those ‘at least I didn’t get sick’ comments from the winter have caught up to me. We have late winter colds. We went to a library event the other day and one of the pre-K kids was coughing and sneezing. She had bags under her eyes, well let’s just say they were jumbo suitcases. It was obvious she was not well. I don’t know why her parent(s) sent her to Pre-K, or why the Pre-K felt it suitable to send her on out to a public event when it was so obvious she was sick, but there you have it. I know people have all sorts of reasons, but for us, it stinks. The weather has been so good that it’s a let down to have unseasonable late winter colds.
Brennan got sick first, then Casey. I was up with Casey for a couple of nights on bronchitis watch. Then Mackenna’s nose started running and mine followed soon after. As of last night the first 2 seemed better. We’ll see how everyone is this morning, but I am exhausted. I slept from around 10:30-5 and don’t remember waking up at all. This of course doesn’t nearly make up for YEARS of not sleeping well, let alone illness and not sleeping more than a doze for several days. I’ll still take it though.
I’ve been doing the 40 bags in 40 days challenge and while I’ve been hampered somewhat by all the illness, I still have gotten some awesome things accomplished. I even cleaned my drawers. Don’t get too excited, it’s just my daily essentials people, nothing kinky. But you get the idea. I had so many things I was just holding onto or keeping where I didn’t need to. Time to let stuff go. Much more streamlined. Saves time when I’m trying to find what I need after a much needed shower, too. If I continue to keep it like this, it will make a big difference as well. If someone has a splinter, I’ll know exactly where the tweezers are, for example, and I can send someone after them without thinking they’re going to mess up my drawers. :’-D
I’ll update the home school stuff later this week. My husband has been off on a business trip and he comes home tonight. We may take tomorrow off since my husband has said he is supposed to take it off due to the fact that he worked over the weekend. Fingers crossed, we may have a life skills day, or a field trip day, or well, a break for mom after 6 days of full-court press. I have no idea how single moms do it all. Hats off if you regularly have to ‘do it all.’ I’m exhausted!

Hope you’re all feeling better soon. ‘My’ kids are sneezing this week. Not sure yet if that’s going to affect me. Obviously hoping NOT.
And I remember the sleep deprivation with one baby at a time, six years apart. I have no idea how I survived THAT… so you’re a kickass mom. If you asked me. Which you did not. But if you had…
