I was given the opportunity to try Dove Advanced Care 48 Hour Antiperspirant recently for Chatterbox. More Chatterbox promos you might have noticed before include one on Folgers Perfect Measures. Both of those only asked for a few sentences but I provided a full blog review for my readers. Chatterboxes are fun, but I only choose the ones I feel like would benefit my readers and myself. I’ve also participated in a couple of full on House Parties, but they often require 11 guests that can commit to a specific day, and unless I could do it virtually, I really couldn’t in good conscience do that! So, ready to hear about my armpits? Of course you are!
This girl is one who definitely needs deodorant. I’m a mom 24/7 who sometimes doesn’t get to shower until late in the day. One failed deodorant was supposed to be great for over average sweaters and all I ended up with was a distinct PePe LePew scent. It’s summertime and the living is easy, but it is hot, hot, hot! I work outside as often as I can and revel in sweating to unclog pores, cleanse my skin, and really feel like a human being. Sounds crazy, but that’s me! I need deodorant that works as hard as I do.
Trying out Dove Advanced Care
I purposefully tried this antiperspirant knowing it would be a tough test. I’m a pretty big skeptic in general. The first thought that crossed my mind was disbelief that a deodorant of any kind could last for 48 hours. I smoothed on the original clean scent from the white stick I received. White sticks typically scare me and therefore I’ve used a clear gel for many years. The antiperspirant went on very well with no residue. Banished white marks for good! I won’t be afraid of a stick deodorant ever again! Set a timer for 48 hours to test Dove Advanced Care out. Go!
So did it work?
The results are in! I noticed the scent when I put it on. When I was relaxing midday I noticed it again. It was definitely working and I still smelled great! By 7 p.m. I was completely nervous and sweating. Before we headed out the door, I checked (everyone does this right?) and I did NOT need to wash or reapply my deodorant before the game. The game was a nail biter to the very end. I spent HOURS in the blazing hot sun, cheering for my daughter’s softball tournament. Do you know what made it extra hot? I held a clingy baby. This is the perfect storm for stink.
The next day we were doing a few things around the house, but not really going anywhere. After sleeping all night I figured I would smell. Nope. The scent had lasted through the night and I still felt dry, even though we’d been at the ballgame all night and was sweaty, I did not need to reapply. This is a vast improvement over my old deodorant. Probably around the 36 hour mark I noticed that there was something OTHER than deodorant going on. By the next morning I definitely needed more deodorant, but I did not smell as bad as I would have otherwise, especially after being hot and sweaty outside nearly 24 hours BEFORE! Bonus! Shaving is a little bit smoother!
Other than daily uses that come to mind:
Hospital– having a baby or surgery? One less thing to apply or remember daily.
Got Milk?- You can make an emergency A.M. run for necessities without fear of stink. Megamart shoppers, I mean you!
Lots of kids?- Who are we kidding you don’t have time to shower. This keeps you fresh.
Hot date Friday and no time to change?- No need to take extra deodorant into work. You’d be fine until the A.M.
School dropoff?– Skip deodorant and change out of your bathrobe <– does anyone really do that? If they do, they now have help!
My next step is to see how long this Dove Advanced Care stick lasts and compare prices. If it’s even close I will probably make the switch. Meanwhile, I still have the rest of the tube and enjoy knowing I won’t need to worry about stink immensely. I’m nervous enough without having to worry if I smell. Now I feel guilty if I get to shower every day now, because my deodorant will last longer.
Disclosure
I received a stick of deodorant in exchange for a review on the House Party Chatterbox site. In no way did receiving a sample sway this review. This is just a bonus review in case anyone is looking for a new deodorant. I make no promises about your mileage with this product. I only know how it has worked for me the last couple of weeks. As always, this is my blog and I tell you the truth. My humble way of saying, the opinions are my own, and may differ from yours, so use your best judgement in every purchase decision you make–wise in these economic times, right? #sponsored #dovechatpack
