Monday the kids worked on some more basic skills, working through letters and math concepts for their age. They also graphed jelly beans since Friday was national jelly bean day! Mom managed to procure some jellybeans on Saturday so we held them over for a morning treat! The rest of the week we basically just chugged along with basic math and writing skills, as we zoom toward summer!
Monday
7 yo- triple digit addition with carryover. This was her first try at that level of addition. She got 70% right on the first try. She also learned her cursive letter E/e, which is important because of how many are in her name! I found an additional workbook set about triple digit addition with some explanation for her to read and problems to do.
4 yo- sight words, concepts of math same/different, and right/left, plus comparison of size large/small/above/below review test, and printing letters O and P focusing on how to tell the difference between a lower case P and a Q. Maze. Color by number 11-20.
We also read the ‘Just so Stories’ from Rudyard Kipling–how the alphabet was made– just the section on the necklace, which tells of the moral of minding your p’s and q’s. It was a fun addition to the basic stuff we’d been doing.
Tuesday-basics
7 yo- cursive letter F, printed easy double digit subtraction and 4 digit addition, reading and responding to a folktale (tell beginning, middle, end). Double digit subtraction from workbook.
4 yo- print letter Q, review matching letters I-P, several pages telling what belongs/matches/goes together, some independent reading.
Wednesday
7 yo-worksheet easy 3 digit subtraction, difficult 2 digit subtraction, cursive letter G
4 yo- print letters R, S; things that don’t belong, things that go together, workers/tools, weather/seasons matching; color by words.
Thursday
7 yo- worksheet 3 digit subtraction, cursive letter H, copying some easy words including letters A-H/KL.
4 yo-print letter T, U; matching want/need, modes of transport matching, person to tool, and practical skills ‘test’ of those things discussed this week, black and orange colors and a maze.
