I promised my 7 yo that I would teach her cursive, and she’s a natural at picking up things, so my hope is that by going back to the basics that she’ll pick up the entire alphabet before the end of the ‘school year’ and be writing somewhat fluently in cursive, although I still want her homework to be done in print! My 4 yo is starting to make leaps and bounds when her confidence is up, so I’m hoping that she’ll focus some more on the rest of her letters (I have a feeling she’ll have to do this another year as well) and writing them correctly. At 4, I don’t expect much, I’m thrilled with what she can do!

I finally, finally got the gumption to make ‘from the pouch’ sugar cookies. I’m perfectly capable but our counters had not been clear in a long time, everyone ‘dumps’ their stuff there.. so anyway….I rolled them out and the 7 yo helped to use a glass to cut them into rough egg shapes. Then the 4 yo and 7yo decorated them and put ‘critters’ hatching out of them. Here’s 2 that I did.. I’d been dying to try the edible eyes forever. Got my wish. Ha!
