The kids have been learning about the human body as their second unit of study. When the first lines of the first book I read to them had to do with Robert Wadlow, I knew we had to finally visit the memorial. As luck would have it, one day we just happened to be driving around nearby and my husband pointed, and there it was. If you’ve never been there, and you happen to be in the area some day, you really should go and pose by it. For a frame of reference, my husband is 6’1. Yeah, the dude was huge. [By this I mean he suffered from gigantism- which lead to a brief spate about the brain and how ways to treat people have changed- which tied back to our first unit about Florence Nightingale, score!]
The kids had a great time measuring up to him.
Trying to fill his shoes.
And last but not least, seeing that his chair was ‘too big’… kind of the Goldilocks effect, if you get my drift. Seriously, the dude was huge.
