Day 5 Topic: What is on your happy playlist?
I’ve you’ve been reading here long enough, you know my favorite artist. If you haven’t. Well…
It’s Garth.
If you just said Garth who.. either you’re very young, which I can forgive, or you might just need t0 move along.
Just kidding.
Really, though. Garth Brooks came on the country music scene when I was probably not even a teenager. I’ve since purchased all the albums. Including the new one that’s hot off the presses. Being an adult, I can really appreciate that there’s some ‘adult’ to his music. While most current country music is about drinking in the cornfield, finding a hot babe to ogle or slide on into your truck (seriously, someone did a youtube about how similar all the songs from the young men are, and they’re really correct)…there’s just not that much LOVE. Not that much family. Not that much adoration, respect or human interest out there right now. His new album hits all these, and more.
Want to cry? I mean really cry?
Find ‘mom’ and grab a box of tissues. He’s performed it on Ellen and a few other shows, so you’re certain to find it if you simply look. If you’re made of stone, you might sniffle. If you have/had babies, you’ll be more like me and not get more than a few lines in and needing something to stem the tears rolling down your face.
Now..
this isn’t exactly happy. But it does tell a little bit about me that you probably didn’t know before.
Pretty much anything that reminds me of my childhood, anything by Garth, and any one hit wonder from the 1990’s makes me very happy. If I had to pick something to work out to, I’d probably go through that list of OHW and be very motivated. Doesn’t take much to make me happy.
