Today is kind of my husband’s birthday. You see he was born on Leap Year. Via C-section. Scheduled. Yes, someone did that. Hashtag DUH. So every year we celebrate for 2 days… except when he has a ‘real’ birthday, then he only gets one day. NORMALLY he only gets a fancier cake on his birthday on REAL birthday years, lol. But he DID ask nicely for a Texas Sheet cake, so I guess I’ll make one later this week. The other special one I tend to make him is a chocolate angel food cake. Which requires separating 13 extra large eggs. Which of course requires buying 2 dozen EL eggs. Lol. It is SO good of course, but a lot of work, way more than a box mix.
He already buys himself whatever he wants and I have a card from the kids to him…and yes I DO always buy him a ‘congrats you’re 5’ or whatever card when he has a real birthday. His next one isn’t until the year of the summer olympics, 16, so we have a while before his next ‘big’ day.
My dad’s birthday is March 1, so they are close together and we have sometimes combined birthday parties. It’s nice to celebrate both of the important guys in my life at one time. They both have worked with computers and have military backgrounds. In some ways they are similar and in some, a lot different, lol. But it’s nice all the same.
