Out of a packet of seeds, we ended up carving one pumpkin and harvesting and eating the seeds (so far), my mom took a couple, and we have 10 still out there that we can enjoy for decoration and/or seed harvesting. Someone (deer, probably) have taken bites out of 3 more green ones left on the vine. Considering I only watered them maybe 3 times and the kids had SO much fun learning about them and checking out their progress in the 90 days + that they were out there growing, I think it was well worth the time and investment! Plus they make adorable kid props! See?
So next fall? Mound up some dirt where you have a 5 ft square area in your yard you don’t mind not mowing and plant some seeds. With basically no care, they… well pump up!
