Did you know that your local craft store has GLOW IN THE DARK FABRIC PAINT? It even comes in a multitude of colors! Yes the bottle glows in the dark, too! No trouble finding it!
We drove the kids around this year, but the bags will come in handy when they walk in a couple of years, doing double duty as a candy holder and safety device in one! So how did I do it?
I simply re-purposed black re-usable grocery bags by turning them inside out. On one I cut out a template (page 2 of 3 for most of these full page size ones) of a haunted house and painted it with a foam brush and a thin coat of paint (and ended up outlining it for a super spooky look!) and on both I ended up free handed writing, bats, candy, etc. and let it dry! The bottle suggests 4 hours, but might take a little longer for thicker spots of paint. You can wash after 72 hours or whatever the bottle says- I didn’t even bother since it’s just for treat bags-but for clothes that’s important to know!
Here’s how they turned out! I loved them and they are easier to carry (even around a toddler’s neck as you carry them!) than plastic pumpkins! As a bonus of course, you could re-use these all year long for groceries and just turn them ‘wrong’ side out for trick or treating! Hope you found this a trick and not a treat. Please pin this if you love it!!!! Thanks!
