See Brennan at ONE! and as a newborn! Wow that seems like yesterday! I remember, because I didn’t get to hold her for SIX hours! They wouldn’t let me feed her for 24. I was about to kick someone’s arse!
Emotional: You know this hasn’t changed much in 2 years. The kid loves to be held! She’s started to do a bit of tantrum-y stuff, but it’s not even remotely annoying yet. More amusing than anything.
Motor skills: She runs, she throws a ball, she climbs on anything she can. I think she just needs some dexterity in her hands, really to be a fully functioning munchkin. She even tries to help with her clothes (something her sister took until 3 to do on a large scale)…
Food stuffs: She eats just about anything, but isn’t that good of a chewer when she is teething. Drives me bonkers. She really seems to hate peas and corn in mixed veggies though.
Favorite toys: She just got some new ones, including one of my old cabbage patch dolls. Now big sister plays with hers that she got right before becoming a big sister!!! Other than that, she plays with just about anything…
Cute things: Almost everything.
Not so cute things: Sitting down when you tell her to do something, or running off and hiding for no reason. She doesn’t answer. It’s scary.. oh and the climbing!!
Words: Lots, and lots, and lots. She speaks in full sentences, for instance ‘this milk is so cold’ or ‘that’s so yummy’ or ‘here’s your [re]mote mom’.
–I took diapers off the milestone list a long time ago. Basically she wears one at night now. We could probably skip that if we wanted to chance wet sheets. I may start doing that very soon. Most of the time she wakes up completely dry. She got her big girl bed a week or so ago. The crib is pushed against the head of it, but so far she hasn’t fallen out. I think we may move the crib AWAY soon (Lord knows I don’t want to take it down at this point)… and see if she stays in bed, if so, she goes to a new room, and I reclaim the nursery!
–educational type of stuff: Let’s see, she knows most of her letters, capital ones, anyway… I have really fallen behind on actually asking her, but she watches some PBS with letters and such from time to time, so I know she is learning some sounds from there. When we start ‘faux’mschooling with big sister soon, little sister will sit in, so that should help. V is the one she tends to say is Y, although she knows Y when she sees it. Sometimes G and J get reversed.. for the most part though, she’s doing well with that. She knows her colors, and knows WHAT numbers are, but not 1-10 to count like big sister did (bad mommy). She knows some of the basic shapes, but we fall out of practice with saying them out loud. I know she has played a game on the tablet from time to time that asks you to pick a certain color and shape of an object, but not sure if she’s mostly picking on color, or picking on shape, since both are factors. Mom just needs to sit and focus a bit!!
Oh and she may get to go to the ‘club’ with daddy and big sister this fall. They kind of want her, which is awesome, they really wanted K at age 3, and she did okay, just a little immature. B will sit and listen to the story and doesn’t really need reminded to be doing what she’s there to be doing, so if there aren’t too many kids, I may have a free couple of hours one afternoon a week until baby comes. If not, we’ll get some one on one time, which is fine. Either way, fall will begin new adventures, that’s for sure!

So different from Keeley! I was musing on that in my own family this morning – 5 boys, 1 girl – all as different as can be in spite of being raised by the same parents, with the same rules… I hope for your kids the same as what happened with us – we are all very good friends! I didn’t know that there were families that didn’t like each other until I was much, much older (say 30s?). Congratulations on 2 years, sweet Brennan! I can’t believe it’s been this long!
