I don’t know about you, but I’m a total grump when I’m sick. I want to slurp warm liquid, blow my nose, wash my hands, and just do what needs done to keep everything passably not gross. I.E. Keep the kids hands washed, tissues all in the trash, dishes tidied up, just enough to get by. As it was, I was up with my toddler for several nights trying to get her to stay asleep long enough for her to make progress. She seems to be getting better. Now I’ve come down with it. The big kid, too. Sadly, the big kid knows better but still sneezes without covering her mouth/nose.
Yesterday, I didn’t want to spend an hour reading out loud to my oldest, just so she’d sit still and eat her lunch (my throat started hurting and I had to pause to blow my nose 10 times).. but I did it anyway.
I didn’t want to cuddle the toddler that kept sneezing or coughing in my face. I did it anyway.
I didn’t want to make a full out dinner, including a cooking lesson, but I did it anyway. The dishes, too.
When my husband’s sick? He stays home for one day, gets left alone, sleeps or watches movies, and is better. When I’m sick? It’s at least a week if not 2.
Today is my toddler’s check up for her 2nd birthday. Yeah. Hopefully we’ll find out she just has a cold and have no more issues. Since she’s been sick nearly a week I would feel bad if it were anything worse.. and did I mention the sneezing in my face? I have no idea what they do for preggo mommies with anything worse. Antibiotics probably. Of course I’m not supposed to have them, so any avoidance I can do would be super.
That’s why I’m up at nearly 3 a.m.Why I’ve been up. Stuff just hurts. I keep waking up to pee anyway, may as well do something productive in the meantime.

I feel like we, as mommies, always are expected to still do our jobs and take care of everyone, while Daddies get to actually rest to get better. You actually do a lot more than I do when I’m sick!!

My hubby goes to work when he’s sick at the same time as us. He’s tried staying home, but he can’t rest with the kids anyway. I don’t blame him, I’d go to work too if I could. Hang in there!!!

When your pregnant and you get sick its a lot worse If its a cold or flu antibiotics won’t be effective you need to get lots of rest if possible Get well soon.
