We had church, a potluck to say goodbye to a foreign exchange student, a toddler who slept late and made us late, a surprise earlier visit from my parents than I was expecting, a weekend off from parenting 2 kids at once, a homemade cake (angel food from scratch!!), grass got mowed, a visit from the Jehovah’s witness (always a pleasure), circle of flowers got weeded, dishes done, laundry folded, leftovers had for dinner, and went to bed after a few catch up episodes of Dallas from last year… completely wiped out.
That’s how my birthday went.
No nap, just hard work, celebration, and joy.

Birthdays are for spending however you want to spend them. Feeling a sense of accomplishment is certainly a gift! I love that, myself.
