Saturday we spent the majority of the day on errands and chores. I look forward to perhaps a bit less of that today. Sadly, even though I could really use the sleep, my body has become accustomed to waking up when my husband does ( 4 am-ish). Lovely.
I spent the morning menu planning and getting some groceries. Then we mowed all afternoon. Since I was push mowing, I did take a break in the middle and then went back out. Both kids enjoyed being out. The oldest one likes to play ‘chase the mower’. She ate 4 (thin) pieces of homemade pizza last night. Umm.. wow. I guess she needs to run more often! After our impromptu picnic, both kids took a good nap, so they were definitely ready for all that time outside! After all the running, though, they were definitely overtired. Poor things.
That was pretty much our day. I’ve been tracking my steps with a pedometer and usually register about 7500 steps. Yesterday was over 18,000. Yikes. My legs are so sore, hopefully once I get up and moving and/or shower they will work the kinks out.
Have a blessed day. We’re off to Sunday school and church, then a concert tonight (the kids are singing to raise money for t-shirts). I have no idea why they even want them to have t shirts but of course they didn’t ask the parents. Come to think of it, they don’t ask the parents or tell the parents… oh anything, really. Kind of rough when your kids is 4 and hyperactive and just doesn’t relay details because.. well they’re FOUR! Someone (not in the program, but maybe was around?) said something several weeks ago about K possibly reading a part? The part was not sent home.. so… yeah. Should be fun. 😉 They chose 6 pm (and are claiming to have dinner? afterward). Which means we will have to eat dinner, go to the concert, and then convince K that she doesn’t need to stay for the social time. Because my kids can’t wait until 7 p.m. to eat. That’s, you know, almost their bedtime. I’m not entirely sure why they couldn’t have waited the 3 weeks until the kids sing IN church again and then take up a special collection while they have a captive audience, but again… no one asked me. I found out about most of this stuff through our newsletter. Good thing I read it!
Time to re-heat yesterday’s french toast, get cleaned up and struggle with getting out the door. Hope whatever you’re looking for today, you find it and it fills you with joy!
