Today I chose to find a writing prompt from the NaBloPoMo site. I think it’s a pretty good one: If you could instantly know any language in the world, which one would it be?

Now of course, the obvious choices would be something that would help you get a job as an interpreter or over the phone assistant, right? Beau coup bucks right there! Something like Mandarin or Korean would instantly change your income potential, now wouldn’t it? Another obvious choice of course would be Spanish since a good portion of immigrants from Central and South American speak it already in our country.
Would I choose any of those? Maybe. I think, though, that I’d choose a language that’s not well known, not talked about pretty much anywhere, but I would love being able to speak, and that is Gaelic. You can read a little more on it here. We’d love to go to Ireland, and just like any other country, it’s good to know some phrases, if nothing else for the entertainment of the locals. Plus, I mean who doesn’t want to know how to ream someone out in a language that no one else is going to understand? Bingo!
