Our niece (we call her M2 online, because our other niece on my side also has a name that starts with M and is older), came back with Keeley on Wednesday, and left Sunday afternoon. She was good for holding onto Brennan and redirecting Keeley when otherwise I would have just yelled at her. Too bad we couldn’t keep her. I did threaten it several times, but for whatever reason she loves her dad (my brother *rolls eyes*) so back she went. She starts working for a local corn place de-tasseling today, so that will give her some pocket money for the summer. She’s been busy practicing for volleyball and playing with her pups. We went and watched her 8th grade sectional game earlier in the year, they were pretty good, but lost, unfortunately. She always seems thrilled to see us and wants to hang out with us. I’m really sad that the rest of the crew doesn’t seem to want to, but hey, they’re either older or boys so I suppose we’re lucky to have one that is happy to just hang around with us for no other reason other than because we’re ‘us’. We wish we’d had a nice guest room (heck it’s not even nice now, the windows aren’t even done) but there’s a bed, so.. anyway..wish we’d had that before, maybe we’d had a summer full of guests. I remember staying with my oldest aunt fondly. Didn’t like her grand-kids much, but she always just pretty much let us have anything we wanted, and I do the same when M2 is here.
Thursday (long weekend, I know), we went to the local library for story time, Friday we went to the OTHER local library for story/crafts, we watched Cinderella (VHS dudes!), paddled in the new ‘pool’, grilled out every day, did swimming lessons and family swim, along with fireworks Saturday and church on Sunday. We were busy.
