Matt got home Friday night around dinner time. It was a quiet night. Keeley stayed that night with friends of ours. She came home acting like she hadn’t slept, but she was in the room with the 12 y.o. so I can’t imagine she kept her up. That being said, she took a nice long nap Saturday after my parents left. Good food, good company, nice presents. Relaxing day. I still had to do chores, but relaxing enough.
Then Sunday we got ready early and went to the mega mart. You all know what I mean. I had a list and we pretty much stuck to it. The girls stayed in the truck AT HOME for about 2 minutes while Matt put soda in the fridge out in the garage (so they weren’t really alone, he was 20 feet away). I went in and put make up on and used the bathroom and we headed to church. Don’t worry, I remembered to wash my hands. Brennan was pissed she didn’t get to share communion with daddy. We came home and had leftovers and the girls went down for a nap (B missed her morning one because of church) and Matt went out and mowed a good chunk. I went out at 3:30 and reminded him that we had a wrap-up to bible school at 4. I had totally forgotten, but Facebook to the rescue (it should be its’ own superhero sometimes with reminders of things!) so we went in for cupcakes. I think there were maybe 40 people there, including people from church that just came to see what the bible school was about (Christmas down under– our pastors are Australians, mate!) and there had been 86 (that’s EIGHTY SIX) kids at bible school. I remember it being a zoo with 50 last year! I think everyone’s going to bail for next year, what’s next 125?!? anyway, so some of the kids noshed on 4 or 5 cupcakes! Uh oh! Keeley had one and I don’t think she ate all of it. We’ve been relaxing ever since, had to put K in bed early, she just couldn’t keep her hands and general mouth to herself. You tell her not to do something, she talks back, or she cries, or she covers her ears… repeat.
On the other hand, Brennan is cooing, babbling, army crawling, and charming EVERYONE! From the young to the very old, everyone says how smiley she is, how happy she is. Keeley was the same, I suppose, but since she always had a binky, you couldn’t always tell. There is something about Brennan, though, that just lights up your life, I swear. Recently I heard somewhere that your first child is your heart, but the second child is your soul. The more I think about it, it seems to be true. No matter how much Keeley frustrates me, a smile from Brennan just melts my heart and makes everything better, I swear her smile is better than a sermon. Makes me wonder what a third child is, though? I’m a third child 🙂

I’m a 4th child. I hear they’re the best. ;0)
