Do yourself a favor and don’t actually look this up, but let it be said that my baby is not perfect! A few weeks after she was born these small tumors appeared on her chest/belly. She is one of the lucky premature babies to have them located there, more than half end up on the face instead of on a coverable body part. Basically she has 2 tiny red spots that will eventually completely disappear, and one about an inch long and a quarter of an inch wide that will grow some and then fade as if it was a scar, probably by the time she is 5. At least that’s what her pediatrician says. Basically it’s an overgrowth of blood vessels close to the skin. Some appear as if under the skin and are bluish and some are on top of the skin and are bright red. We have the bright red kind. They didn’t appear for a couple of weeks and then all the sudden the larger one was there and it was like ‘whoa, where did that come from’? The other 2 came in a couple of weeks after that. She shouldn’t get any more. Luckily there’s nothing wrong with them, and of course hers are in a nicely onesie covered area of her body, so unless we decide to put her in a 2 piece bikini swimsuit or a t-shirt rides up, unless you change her diaper or give her a bath, you’d never know it was there.

Lucy had a wee little one on her right eyelid. It was slightly noticeable for the first year or so and has now shrunk so that it is barely noticeable. It is just a little red dot on her eyelid you wouldn’t know was there unless you looked for it. I did a lot of hardcore praying about that spot because if it grew it was going to be a BIG DEAL to have removed.
