Fun Monday – Graphic Tees

This week’s Fun Monday is being hosted by WT, he wants to see some clothing art. That’s tee shirts, baseball caps, hoodies, sports uniforms or any bit of clothing that you or your kids own that has interesting, funny or artistic graphics. Note: Please click on the link to WT and see the other participants! Well, this is the one graphic item I have allowed myself to wear. I think that if you’re getting closer to 30 that you ought to be phasing yourself out of juniors wear. I just like the Tootsie Pop owl. There are “connotatively dirtier” ones, but I dont like those – especially since it’s a “juniors” shirt (read 12-18 year olds wear these) – I dont think “how many licks” should be plastered acrost their respectively tiny chests. Eww. But I do like the “show me the candy” version, it is perfectly appropriate for halloween. And I do like me some candy…

  1. You shirt is cute. You make a good point. I teach seventh grade. I often wonder why parents want their 12-13 year old daughters wearing “Hottie” across their butt or “These are larger than they appear.” across their chest.

  2. I SO AGREE!!! Also, even after you reach a certain age, the written/graphic remarks that you see sometimes is just not ‘kosher’!!

    HAVE A FUN MONDAY.

  3. i think you make a good point about the not-so-positive-message tees that some young women wear.

but this is a cute one! i remember that owl from the commercials in my childhood. :o)

  4. mjd probably doesn’t totally approve of my kiddo’s shirt – but she only wore it to school once! HONEST!! And I love Pamela’s comment! The only graphic t-shirts I should start wearing should deal with my age…and greying hair.

  5. I’ll be officially old my next birthday and I still wear the t’s. The graphics tend to draw attention away from all of the lumps under the t-shirt which aren’t supposed to be there.

Plus, with a three year old around they all so disguise greasy handprints!

  6. That is a good one…I guess I never thought about the “how many licks” in that way since that was in the original 70’s add. Hmmm….I need to go rethink that one.

    While I’m thinking…Have a good Monday! 🙂

  7. Well that brings back memories!

I agree that some things really shouldn’t be worn by young girls…or even the older ones!

  8. I couldn’t see the shirt, but I have seen the “How Many Licks” one. I’d like a “Give a Hoot, Don’t Pollute” or Smokey the Bear shirt.

See, this is one of those fashion problems we discussed. I am 36 and not out of the Juniors’ department. For one thing, Juniors pants sizes fit better. For another, I often feel like someone else when I’m shopping in the Misses’ or Women’s department. And which is it anyway? I do not even understand the difference between Misses’ and Women’s. They seem to say the same thing.

  9. My children were taught at a young age about appropriate wear and I have not had to mention it to them now that they are older. They were Old Navy hoodies and bigger shirts with nice things on them. Our 13 year old got a nice yellow t-shirt with birds on it that says Sirdar. At my age and weight, my shirts are all lose fitting and the graphics vary. I like the one you featured; it is cute and appropriate.
