The last style of flat diaper I tried was the Imagine Printed Flat. It comes from a line of diapers made for and sold exclusively by Nicki’s Diapers. See their whole Imagine line here. I bought Imagine prefolds before my current tester was born, and was delighted with them. One thing about the internet, you never know who’s listening in! I commented on another person’s ND review and was contacted, so these diapers came to me for free! You know how thrilled I was to get another Imagine product to review? I may have squealed bit out loud. A package of 6 retails right now for $14.95. That’s $2.49 per diaper. The most fun part is that these flats? They come in PRINTS. They are adorable and I’d love to have a few of each one! Check out the adorable ‘Tree Friends’ print! Did you know I LOVE owls? It also comes in dinos RAWR and butterflies! FLUTTER— I love that at least 2 of these could be considered gender neutral with a girly option for those that are pink dedicated! Who doesn’t love dinos, right?
According to the Nicki’s Diapers website, the diaper is about 27″ square with about 5-10% of shrinkage expected, and to wash and dry them 6 times before use for full preparation and absorption. I love that their website goes ahead and says to use 2 at night time or for a super pee-er. I measured one diaper and came up with 24″ x 25″. For posterity, I triangle folded it and used an infant snappi to fasten it on my toddler. She got her piggies painted (orange) for the first time today. She matches!
The biggest issue I had was folding/size wise. Like with my last review, I couldn’t do a regular pad fold, because the insert ended up too narrow and caused leaks inside a pocket because there wasn’t enough side-side coverage. I had more success with this diaper overnight, though, I think because the cotton is a thicker fabric. I posted a tutorial HERE to show you how I made using a small flat work for me! (Pinterest Link for tutorials.)
For price, absorbency, ease and overall bang-for-your-buckness, I’d give these diapers 4.0 stars. I’ve been using them for about 2 weeks now. There’s not been any visible staining and they do well overnight when folded correctly. I would use this diaper at any time, but it’s so cute that baby could run around without a cover in day time and give you a little smile from the absolutely cuteness! I would definitely love it if these came in a size large for toddlers, as well.

These flat reviews are really interesting to me. I still don’t think I’ll go for flats for every day, but I have a new appreciation for them, and can see how they are good to have in your stash. Plus, that is a cute pattern!

I am a flat user but mine are not as cute as a printed version. I think to go with flats you just need to learn to do different folds. I like them because they are so versatile and I wouldn’t really need to get a bigger size. Plus they have so many other uses in a pinch.

I’m also a huge fan of the Imagine products – have used both their prefolds, OS cover and newborn cover and tried some of their plain flats. These prints are just to die for! Must-must have the dino print for my litle guy.
